RF Antenna - Installation
Installing RF Antennas

Required
- Vigileyez Control Panel
- 2x RF Antenna
- Cable glands
- 16mm drill bit (if the holes are not already pre-drilled)
Preparing the control panel
If the sides of the control panel do not have a blanking gland OR is already pre-drilled, use the below diagram.

Mark out and drill the holes required for the gland.
Drill the hole slowly making sure not to damage the circuit board of the control panel
Installing the gland
Remove the nut from the gland then insert the gland outside, in.
Making sure that the rubber seal is on the outside of the lid. See picture to the right for reference.
Connecting the antenna to the control panel
Once the glands are installed, put the cable of the antenna through the gland and fix the antenna to the external antenna port. Making sure the amount of cable inside the control panel is minimal.
DO NOT LEAVE EXCESS CABLE COILED INSIDE THE CONTROL PANEL
Control panel configuration
Once the external antennas have been installed, go into the configuration for the control panel and go into the RF Receiver section.
Within the RF receiver section of the panel configuration, there is a setting for “Internal RF Antenna”. Turn this setting off and press Save at the top right.
This will now set the panel to use the external RF antennas.

- Do not screw the antennas into the casing of the control panel. If you are mag mounting the control panel, put the bracket of the antennas onto the same mags and then screw the nut into place.
- Ensure the external antennas are mounted at least 2 meters from the ground. Try and mount the panel around the same height where possible.
- Have the least amount of cable inside the control panel as possible, the electronics inside the control panel can cause interference leading to poor RF quality between panel and devices.
- Ensure the external antennas are mounted at least 34cm away from each other.
- When utilising external antennas, ensure an antenna is installed on both antenna ports. The antennas are for different purposes, when the setting is toggled within the config, the control panel will only use the external antenna ports.
