Smoke Detector - Quick Start Guide

Pairing the Detector

To pair a smoke detector with the control panel, go into the Wireless Sensors section of the configuration.
  1. Put the panel into pairing mode by unlocking the receiver at the top of the page, and start Refresh at the top right of the screen (for more information on accessing this page, please refer to the Control Panel guides)
  2. Connect the battery to the detector, and within 5 seconds of connecting the battery, hold the test button down for around 2 seconds and let go.
  3. The device will now show in red on the configuration interface
  4. Select the detector and go to the configuration page for the device
  5. Name the device at the top of the page, scroll to the bottom and set an Area for the device
  6. Press Save at the top right of the page
  7. To complete the pairing process, hold the test button down again for 2 seconds, the device should now go green
  8. To test the pairing process, keep the Wireless Sensors page on refresh and hold the button down until the smoke detector triggers.
Once finished, ensure the receiver is locked again at the top of the page.

Device Configuration

Configuration Overview

  1. Name/Description - Name of the detector (can be location)
  2. Enabling time - Setting a trigger delay to the device (allowing time for the system to be disarmed)
  3. Maximum Activations - The number of times a camera can be triggered during an arming session (set the slider to the far left for unlimited)
  4. Excludable - Turning this setting on allows the system to be armed if this device is currently open / in fault
  5. Silent Alarm - Send alarm without activating siren(s)
  6. Alarm all day 24H Alarm - The device will be armed all the time, regardless of the current arming state of the system
  7. Verify Mode - Logs the trigger in the Event Log, does not send an alarm to webeyeCMS (leaves the device working but does not send an alarm)
  8. Exclude Tamper - Excludes the tamper on the device
  9. Led - Enables the LED on the front of the camera when triggered (Red LED = PIR detection, Blue LED = Microwave detection)
  10. Beep- Enables the beep
  11. Notify Open Zone Voice - Announces open zone through the control panel's in-built speaker
  12. Radio Power - Sets the power for the RF antenna in the device (if the device is mounted far from the control panel, ensure this is set to maximum)
  13. RF Repeater - Currently not supported. Will allow you to choose which repeater (when paired) the camera will use to communicate back to the panel.
  14. Low Battery Voltage - Setting for when the camera will alert for low battery
  15. Active Areas - Setting the area in which the camera is active in (ensure at least one area is selected)

Standard/Default Configuration


Testing the device

  1. If you are logged into the panels admin menu, go within Wireless Sensors and start refresh at the top right
  2. Press and hold the test button on the smoke detector until it sounds (this will only give 2 short blasts of the sounder)
  3. This should display "Z1" in red when the zone has gone into alarm
  4. To reset the zone do a single presso n the test button
  5. The same test can be done without being logged in. This will generate the alarm through to the webeyeCMS platform.

Installation

To install the detector, screw the mounting bracket to the ceiling. Once the bracket is on, line the notches from the smoke detector into the recesses of the base and turn clockwise around 10°.
