KnowIO - webeyeCMS Integration Setup

KnowIO - webeyeCMS Integration Setup

How the integration works

The integration allows for signals that are received into a site within the KnowIO to be transmitted to the webeyeCMS platform. This is done by setting up a site "connector" device on the webeyeCMS platform which is used to receive the SMTP signals from KowIO into Webeye. Each individual device on the site can then be commissioned to receive more defined signals per device.

Connector/Tunnel Device

This device will be used to get all signals from the KnowIO portal into webeyeCMS. Further devices will need to be created after to get signals from the hardware.

webeyeCMS Setup

Create a site on the webeyeCMS platform, navigate to Devices on Site and then create a device. Insert a name for the device, for example "Alarming Tunnel". The serial number of this device needs to the Site ID from the KnowIO portal for this site (see below section to find the Site ID). Select the Type of Device "KnowIO". There is no polling to this specific device so ensure Signal Poll Failure is turned off, press create new device at the bottom of the page.
This will then take you to the configure page where you find the SMTP settings for setting up the site within the KnowIO portal along with automation rules.

KnowIO Site Setup

Navigate to the site within the KnowIO portal. From here you will find an Information section detailing the Site ID which is used above to commission the device.

To enter the SMTP settings for the Webeye device into the KnowIO site, find the "Monitored by" section and click anywhere on the box. Find Webeye on the drop down menu and select it. This will then bring a new section to fill in the SMTP settings.

Fill out the SMTP settings as per the webeyeCMS configuration and press save.

Individual device creation

Now the site connector has been setup, each device on the KnowIO site can be setup within the webeyeCMS platform. To do this, create a new device within the webeyeCMS site, name it approproiately (e.g. Main entrance gate padlock) and select the KnowIO device type. The serial number this time will be the Lock ID of the padlock or Gateway ID of the gateway device.
