External Keypad / RFID Reader - Quick Start Guide

Hardware Overview


Pairing the device

To pair an External Keypad onto the control panel, go into the Readers section of the configuration.
  1. Put the panel into pairing mode by unlocking the receiver at the top of the page and Start Refresh at the top right of the screen (for more information on accessing this page, please refer to the Control Panel guides)
  2. Connect the battery to the Keypad and within 5 seconds of connecting the battery, press the tamper switch twice
  3. The keypad will beep and/or flash 3 times confirming it is in pairing mode and will now show in red on the configuration interface
  4. Select the keypad and go to the configuration page for the device
  5. Name the device at the top of the page and configure the device, ensuring no zones are selected in the areas below (See screenshot under Standard/Default Configuration)
  6. Press Save at the top right of the page
  7. To complete the pairing process, press and hold the tamper button for around 3-4 seconds and let go
  8. The badge reader will beep to confirm and will now be showing as green on the Readers page of the panel configuration

Badge Reader Configuration

Configuration Overview

  1. Repeater - Currently unsupported
  2. BUS 485 - N/A
  3. Enable - Whether the device is enabled / disabled
  4. Enable Status LED - Enables the LED's on the front of the keypad.
  5. Exclude Tamper - Turning this setting on allows the system to be armed if this device is currently open / in fault (advisable to exclude this during setup and installation)
  6. Exclude Beep on Zone Delay - With this setting turned on, the keypad will not beep if any devices have a delay on them
  7. Use for Access Control - N/A
  8. Low Battery V - Setting for when the device will alert for low battery (default is 2.7v)
  9. Radio Power - Sets the power for the RF antenna in the device (if the device is mounted far from the contranel, ensure this is set to maximum)
  10. Reader Time - Cooldown between reading an RFID tag
  11. Max Reading Attempts - Sends an alarm when an incorrect fob is used
  12. Active Areas - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user
  13. Active Areas - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user

  15. Active Areas - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user

Standard/Default Configuration


Pairing a Fob

To pair a fob onto the control panel, go to the Users section of the control panel configuration (logged in as Admin).
  1. Select a user that is not the superuser
  2. Name the user/fob within the User Name field
  3. Toggle Super User to Yes within the Privileges section
  4. Navigate to the Remote Control section, ensure the RFID Card field and displays 00000000
  5. Press the Detect button and a loading screen will appear
  6. Press the fob against the reader until you hear a beep (Top right of the reader)
  7. An ID for the tag will now appear within the RFID card field
  8. Once this is complete, navigate to the bottom and ensure the Arming Mode A and Disarming Mode are both set to TOTAL (See example below)

Adding a user code

To add a user code to the system, you will need to login as the superuser user on the configuration interface. To do this, access the configuration for the device, instead of loggin in with Admin, login using superuser. The default password for the superuser login is 3333.
  1. Once logged in as superuser, go to Menu at the bottom of the page and then select users
  2. Select the next available user on the list (if it has not already been setup in the Admin login)
  3. Once you are on the user you can set the Name and password
    Passwords contain numbers only and can be 4-8 digits long
  4. Once finished, press save on the top right
  5. If the user entry is new and hasn't previously been setup with an access badge follow the next steps
  6. Logout as superuser and log into the configuration as Admin
  7. Go to the user section and select the user a code has been added for
  8. Toggle Super User to Yes within the Privileges section
  9. Once this is complete, navigate to the bottom and ensure the Arming Mode A and Disarming Mode are both set to TOTAL (see example above in the badge pairing section)
  10. Press save on the top right

Installation Instructions

See below steps for installatiopn of the keypad. Pictures as reference at the bottom of the page.
  1. Take the backplate of the keypad and mark holes where the keypad is being installed
  2. Take out the foam pad within the box and stick this onto the rear of the keypad backplate
  3. Drill the holes for the keypad installation
  4. Fix the backplate to the wall with the foam behind the the backplate. Ensure the screws are not overtightened, this can cause the backplate to bend making it difficult to fit in place.
  5. Once done, place the 2 latch points at the top of the keypads over the divets at the top of the backplate at a 45 degree angle (making sure to take care of the speaker inside the keypad)
  6. Once alligned, drop the keypad down
  7. Install the locking screw in the bottom of the keypad (the keypad may need to be pushed in during the locking screw installation)
  8. Install the RF antenna
