Calipsa

Calipsa is a software verification tool which allows uploaded videos to be checked for human and vehicle activity.

When enabled, webeyeCMS will send each video signal from your system to the Calipsa platform for analysis. Once Human or Vehicle activity is confirmed, no more videos will be sent to Calipsa for that alarm.

As you can see from the below picture, no more signals are sent to Calipsa for verification after a True verification has already taken place within the alarm.

Once the alarm is closed, new alarm video signals will be sent to the Calipsa platform and the process is repeated.

If the Calipsa platform was to go down, all video alarm signals will still be presented to you within the alarm, just without the alarm analysis verification.

Enabling Calipsa

To enable Calipsa; navigate to the site, go to Devices on Site, then click on the 3 dot menu at the top right hand side of the device, scroll to Video Analysis and enable, and choose the version of Calipsa you'd like to use.

Calipsa Versions

Currently there are two types of Calipsa available on the webeyeCMS platform; Calipsa and Calipsa Enhanced.
Calipsa enhanced is available at an additional charge.

Calipsa (Standard)

Will analyse the first video of every alarm and send it through to Calipsa for verification until a verified video has been returned.

Calipsa Enhanced

Will analyse every video for an alarm and send them through to Calipsa for verification

Verification

All videos received back from Calipsa contain a blue background on the video image entry.

True

On the event of a video coming back from Calipsa and is verified to be a Human or Vehicle you will see:
  1. Tick box on Video signal and within video pane when playing
  2. Clicking Tick Box within video shows verification timestamp and allows user to provide feedback to Calipsa
  3. Verified by analysed video message at the top of the alarm
  4. Original video shown with standard background with Blue text.

False

On the event of a video coming back from Calipsa and is false (no human or vehicle), you will see:
  1. Box with a cross on video signal and within video pane
  2. Standard Text colours on video signals
  3. Clicking cross box within video shows verification timestamp and allows user to provide feedback to Calipsa
  4. Analysed text on original video

Feedback

To provide feedback to Calipsa, click on the Tick or Cross from within the video pane. From here you can mark the analysis by Calipsa as correct or incorrect.

Redundancy

webeyeCMS sends the alarm video footage to the Calipsa servers, meaning if the connection to the Calipsa servers is not available, all alarm signals will still be available from the platform.
