Badge Reader - Quick Start Guide
Hardware Overview
Pairing the Badge Reader
To pair a badge reader onto the control panel, go into the Readers section of the configuration.
- Put the panel into pairing mode by unlocking the receiver at the top of the page and Start Refresh at the top right of the screen (for more information on accessing this page, please refer to the Control Panel guides)
- Connect the battery to the badge reader and within 5 seconds of connecting the battery, press the tamper switch twice
- The badge reader will beep and/or flash 3 times confirming it is in pairing mode and will now show in red on the configuration interface
- Select the badge reader and go to the configuration page for the device
- Name the badge reader at the top of the page and configure the device, ensuring no zones are selected in the areas below (See screenshot under Standard/Default Configuration)
- Press Save at the top right of the page
- To complete the pairing process on the badge reader, press and hold the tamper button for around 3-4 seconds and let go
- The badge reader will beep to confirm and will now be showing as green on the Readers page of the panel configuration
Badge Reader Configuration
Configuration Overview
- Repeater - Currently unsupported
- Activate Status LED - Enables the LED's on the front of the badge reader.
- Exclude Tamper - Turning this setting on allows the system to be armed if this device is currently open / in fault
- Set Vbat Low - Setting for when the camera will alert for low battery (default is 2.4V)
- Radio Power - Sets the power for the RF antenna in the device (if the device is mounted far from the control panel, ensure this is set to maximum)
- Reading Time - Cooldown between reading an RFID tag
- Max Reading Attempts - Sends an alarm when an incorrect fob is used
- Insertion 1/Arming Mode A - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user
- Insertion 2/Arming Mode B - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user
- Insertion 3/Arming Mode C - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user
- Disarming Areas/Disarming Mode - Leave as default, this setting is configured per user
Standard/Default Configuration
Pairing a Fob
To pair a fob onto the control panel, go to the Users section of the control panel configuration.
- Select a user that is not the superuser
- Name the user/fob within the User Name field
- Toggle Super User to Yes within the Privileges section
- Navigate to the Remote Control section, ensure the RFID Card field and displays 00000000
- Press the Detect button and a loading screen will appear
- Press the fob against the reader until you hear a beep (Top right of the reader)
- An ID for the tag will now appear within the RFID card field
- Once this is complete, navigate to the bottom and ensure the Arming Mode A and Disarming Mode are both set to TOTAL (See example below)
